Genetics and Genomics - Stuck on Repeat

Stowers Research Conferences are biennial meetings that bring together researchers, faculty, and graduate students to inspire creative thought and collaboration in the basic sciences.

Oct 26-282022

Kansas City, MO

Stowers Research Conferences are biennial meetings that bring together researchers, faculty, and graduate students to inspire creative thought and collaboration in the basic sciences.

This one-of-a-kind meeting is intended to focus attention on the dynamics of repeated sequences in genomes. Chromosomes contain many types of repetitive DNA, such as centromeres, telomeres, transposons, satellites, and other repeated elements. Although these regions are often ignored, they have important functional roles and evolutionary patterns. We are excited to bring together thought leaders in this fascinating area of research to share ideas, discover common and unique themes, and forge new relationships.
