The Graduate School of the Stowers Institute for Medical Research recently added Jinelle Wint, Ph.D., to the staff as Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs. Jinelle completed her doctoral degree on disease modeling in zebrafish at Stony Brook University. She also holds an M.S. in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from Stony Brook University and a B.S. in Biology and General Studio Art from the University of Miami. Jinelle has a strong track record in research, teaching, graduate student affairs and a passionate interest in recruiting and diversity.
Jinelle joined GSSIMR following the departure of Ana Pedraza, Ph.D., former Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. Though we were sad to see Ana go, we are excited for her as she opens a new chapter in her career and offer our profound gratitude for her commitment and critical role in establishing GSSIMR from the very start. There is simply no way to overstate Ana’s key role in helping create a world-class graduate program in such a short period of time, and she will be sorely missed.
