Nineteen talented students, selected from universities around the world, are spending the summer immersed in groundbreaking research within Principal Investigator labs and Technology Centers at the Stowers Institute. Stowers scientists and researchers will help the students develop new scientific skills, deepen their scientific knowledge, and gain practical research experience within the Institute's collaborative environment.
The Summer Scholars program provides a dynamic and intensive internship designed to give undergraduates the opportunity to gain graduate-level laboratory experience to prepare them for graduate school. Each scholar will work closely with a dedicated Stowers researcher mentor, embarking on an independent research project while mastering state-of-the-art techniques and technologies.
Throughout the eight-week program, scholars will participate in weekly seminars to offer insights into the variety of scientific disciplines and research topics at the Institute. The program will culminate in an all-Institute poster session, where scholars will present their research findings to the Stowers community.
Funded by the Stowers Foundation and administered through the Graduate School of the Stowers Institute for Medical Research, the Summer Scholars program is a vital stepping-stone for scientists at the beginning of their careers.
This year’s program takes place June 3 – July 26, 2024.
