KANSAS CITY, MO—Richard Brown, chair, president, and chief executive officer of Stowers Resource Management, announced today that Charles German has joined the Stowers Group of Companies as co-general counsel. German and current Co-General Counsel David Welte will work closely together on a successful transition during the remainder of the year.
German was a founding shareholder in the law firm of German May PC. In over forty years of law practice he earned the reputation as one of the leading trial and litigation attorneys in the region, working on a wide variety of cases ranging from capital murder and intellectual property to life sciences and corporate litigation. His primary practice areas have been internal and governmental investigations, corporate governance, biotech, capital markets, and professional liability. German has served as outside independent counsel for BioMed Valley Discoveries since 2018. He is an adjunct professor at the UMKC School of Law.
Welte’s retirement at year-end culminates a more than 25-year relationship with the Institute during which he has been an extraordinarily valuable member of the leadership team.
