Each Technology Center team is led by experts in their fields, while the overall direction of scientific support and technology development at the Stowers Institute is led by a group of Technology Center Directors.

The Automation and PCR Technology group provides equipment, expertise, and collaborative services to Stowers Institute researchers regarding the automation of scientific experiments, including a particular focus on polymerase chain reaction (PCR) techniques in which small samples of DNA are amplified to larger amounts for research studies.
The Big Data, Artificial Intelligence, and Genomics group consists of computational experts in genomics, mathematical modeling, scientific software, big data analytics, and the use of artificial intelligence to understand biological systems.
The Cells, Tissues, and Organoids team provides technical and collaborative services to Stowers Institute scientists whose research involves the development and culture of cell lines and tissues for biological investigation.
The Computational Biology team operates at the interface of the fields of biology, computer science, and statistics by developing and applying algorithms and models to understand biological systems and relationships.
The Custom Protein Resources team produces a variety of protein-based products that support research at the Institute.
The Cytometry team assists Stowers Institute scientists by providing technical services and collaborative support for the comprehensive measurement of cells and their properties.
The Fly Stock team houses and maintains more than a thousand unique fruit fly (Drosophila) stocks for many Stowers laboratories that use this research organism in their scientific programs.
The Genome Engineering team assists Stowers Institute researchers in the precise and specific alteration of genetic material of research organisms and cultured cells.
The Histology team provides histotechnical instrumentation, technical support, and collaborative services to Stowers Institute scientists whose research involves the microscopic anatomy of biological tissues and cells.
The Media Preparation team provides Stowers labs ready-to-use nutrient plates and broths that support the growth of a variety of cells and microorganisms.
The Microscopy center puts collaboration first: its full range of instrumentation, technical support staff, and image analysis tools are there to remove all barriers to the Stowers Institute’s research scientists when it comes to electron or light microscopy.
The Sequencing and Discovery Genomics team provides technical and collaborative support to Stowers Institute scientists who need to perform nucleic acid sequencing in the course of their research, including traditional and next-generation techniques.
The Systems Mass Spectrometry team is dedicated to adopting, adapting, and developing leading-edge mass spectrometry-based multi-omics approaches to support a variety of research projects at the Institute.
The Terrestrials team supports Stowers research programs that include the study of animal models to better understand biological processes of health and disease.
The Transgenic and Reproductive Technologies group provides specialized services for Stowers scientists that utilize genetically modified organisms.
